A hotel room provides an unusually demanding exhibition space. The visitor encounters artwork at a scale closer to everyday life, while the gallery must decide how to work with the room’s existing proportions and furnishings. ONE ART Taipei returns for its ninth edition on 15–17 January 2027 at Hotel Metropolitan Premier Taipei, with public access on the final two days.

The format is especially interesting for those who want to explore a gallery’s choices up close. It brings together modern and contemporary art, emerging practices, and media-based works without placing them all in one undifferentiated exhibition hall. The door between rooms becomes part of the experience: each presentation must establish its own terms of engagement.

The organiser’s updated 2027 introduction identifies Unlimited, Discovery, Media Art and Next Art Tainan. Unlimited accommodates established modern and contemporary gallery programmes; Discovery focuses on artists under 35; Media Art includes work beyond a conventional painting display; Next Art Tainan connects the fair with younger practices from another Taiwanese city.

The final 2027 exhibitor roster and total are not yet confirmed on the pages reviewed. The gallery page still explicitly lists its figure of 61 exhibitors from 2026, even though the surrounding heading announces 2027. That historical count must not be taken as a prediction. The archive includes Der-Horng Art Gallery, Dynasty Gallery, AKI Gallery, JILL D’ART Gallery and other Asian participants, all identified with their actual edition.

The ONE ART Award and Best Interior Design Award offer visitors two different kinds of evaluation to consider. One examines emerging artistic work; the other recognises how a gallery transforms an exhibition space. The awards can provide useful points of enquiry, but they do not replace an independent assessment of the works.

ONE ART Taipei 2027 Event Overview

ONE ART Taipei 2027: Dates, Tickets & Visitor Guide

Dates:

16 January 2027 - 17 January 2027

Location:

Hotel Metropolitan Premier Taipei, also known as JR-EAST Hotel Metropolitan Taipei, No. 133, Section 3, Nanjing East Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City 104107, Taiwan. These names refer to the designated fair hotel. Do not confuse the venue with the organizing company’s office address on Zhongxiao East Road.

Mission:

ONE ART Taipei develops a hotel-based contemporary art platform through which galleries and collectors can meet in a more intimate spatial setting. The fair’s different sections create several routes into collecting. The most useful route begins with what an artist is attempting, rather than the expectation that a hotel presentation must be easy or decorative.

Organizer:

Asia Pacific Artlink Co., Ltd. The company’s broader activities include contemporary art and photography events, while ONE ART Taipei maintains its own program, dates, and admission arrangements.

Why attend to ONE ART Taipei 2027?

The hotel setting offers a direct way to examine scale. A painting can dominate a room, recede into a corner, or become more complex when seen alongside another work. These are artistic relationships as well as questions of display. A good presentation should clarify the practice rather than simply demonstrate that a work can fit into a domestic interior.

The different sections also allow comparison between established and developing positions. Discovery’s age threshold describes eligibility, not a visual style or a guarantee of quality. Look for the decision that makes a work particular: the handling of an image, a material interruption, or an unexpected relationship between objects.

Ticket Information

General admission costs

A verified 2027 public tariff and complete concession conditions have not yet been published in the visitor information checked. The preview timetable is announced, but the presence of a session does not guarantee that every visitor can attend it. Use the enquiry form on this page to request the correct public or preview access for the selected day.

Getting There:

Nanjing Fuxing MRT station provides the closest approach identified by the organiser. Exit 2 is listed a short walk from the hotel, with connections through the Wenhu and Songshan–Xindian lines. Travellers arriving at Taoyuan airport can use the airport rail connection to Taipei and continue through the city network. Check the complete route rather than relying on an airport-to-city estimate alone.

For another hotel-based fair earlier in the month, ART FUTURE 2027 opens to the public on 9–10 January at Grand Hyatt Taipei. Its selection framework differs from ONE ART’s, and the hotels are in different districts. The fairs can form separate parts of an extended stay, with time for galleries between them.

Accommodation

A base near Nanjing Fuxing simplifies repeat visits and access to the MRT network. A hotel closer to Xinyi may better suit a trip that begins at the earlier fair. Compare the complete sequence of dates before choosing a single base, and keep the exhibition venue separate from the question of where to sleep.

History & Context of a ONE ART Taipei 2027

ONE ART Taipei debuted in 2019. The organiser identifies 2027 as its ninth edition, following the January 2026 fair at the same named hotel. The event’s development can be followed through its sections, gallery archive and awards, which provide more precise evidence than an assumption that every edition grows in the same direction.

What Has Changed Since 2026

The announced return moves to 15–17 January 2027, with public days on the 16th and 17th. The current introduction includes Next Art Tainan alongside Unlimited, Discovery and Media Art; this connection was already present in the 2026 archive and should not be described as invented for 2027. New participants and programme changes will be established by the actual edition list.

Interesting Fact

AKI Gallery won the 2026 Best Interior Design Award. That edition’s selection combined voting during the VIP preview with professional assessment. The award therefore recognised an exhibition’s spatial proposition, rather than simply attaching a prize to the best-known artist in a room.

For a visitor, this provides a useful experiment. Look at a presentation once from its doorway and again from the position the gallery seems to invite you to occupy. Notice what the room allows you to see and what it conceals. A successful arrangement can change the relationship between works without making the surrounding decoration the main attraction.

Tips for Visitors of ONE ART Taipei 2027

Keep a note of the gallery and room when a work interests you. Hotel circulation makes it easy to remember a visual impression while forgetting which presentation produced it. Before returning, ask whether a video or time-based work requires a full viewing cycle and whether photographs are allowed.

Tips from the ArtExpoWorld

Our art fairs in February 2027 calendar continues the early-year comparison across Asia, Mexico, and Africa. Use it to decide whether to extend an artistic inquiry into another regional visit. A later fair is a separate commitment of travel and time; it should not diminish the attention given to the work already before you.

Editor’s Note

ONE ART’s strongest proposition is that display cannot remain invisible. A gallery working in a hotel room must negotiate an existing space, and the visitor can often see that negotiation. We are interested in presentations where those constraints sharpen a practice, allowing the work’s scale and relationships to become more precise.

The format has a corresponding weakness when art is reduced to the reassurance of fitting beautifully into a room. An unresolved or disturbing work may need to resist that comfort. The presence of media art and a section for younger practices gives the fair a basis for more demanding encounters, provided the galleries allow those differences to remain visible.

We would recommend ONE ART to readers prepared to look at both the artwork and the way it has been introduced. Its value lies in the possibility that one carefully arranged room makes an unfamiliar artist difficult to forget. The awards add useful perspectives, but the work should continue to hold attention after the visitor steps back into the corridor.
