Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm
This exhibition is a rare chance to step into the private visual diary of a global icon. Between December 1963 and February 1964, Paul McCartney — then just 21 years old — documented the world around him with a 35mm camera. The photographs capture The Beatles’ breakthrough era: their final months before conquering America, their chaotic first U.S. tour, the quiet countryside moments in England, the restless hours in airports and hotels, and the sudden glare of world fame.

History of Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm
In 1963, The Beatles were still “the next big thing” in the UK, unaware of the hurricane of Beatlemania about to hit.
McCartney carried his own camera, documenting not only the concerts, but the in-between spaces — trains, hotels, backstage lounges, and rare private hours.
The negatives were stored away for decades, only resurfacing recently.
In 2023, the National Portrait Gallery in London first showcased them in an exhibition, sparking global fascination.
Now, in 2025–2026, the collection travels to Nashville, where the story of the Beatles’ “storm years” can be experienced in the heart of Music City.
