Material Art Fair held Volume 12 on 5–8 February 2026 at Maravilla Studios, Fresno 315, in Mexico City’s Atlampa neighbourhood. The opening day combined professional and preview access with a later public opening. This archive records the completed edition and should not be used as a current admission schedule.
The gallery selection included LLANO and PEANA from Mexico City, CRISIS from Lima and Madrid, PASTO from Buenos Aires, and Instituto de Visión from Bogotá and New York. The presentations situated the fair within a network of Latin American galleries and their international relationships.
The programme extended beyond static displays through IMMATERIAL performances, conversations, and publishing. A presentation of 1980–2020 Contemporary Art in Ecuador connected the fair with the documentation of a wider artistic history. The city programme also created encounters outside the fair venue.
The significance of that structure lies in how different forms of artistic practice reach an audience. A performance requires presence at a particular time; a publication can preserve relationships between artists and spaces after the temporary stands disappear. Neither should be reduced to an accessory to the commercial display.
The announced Material Art Fair 2027 returns as Volume 13 on 4–7 February at Maravilla Studios. Use the new guide for the next edition and its developing visitor information. The 2026 artists, prices, and session times should not be assumed to return.
