The setting shaped the experience: sculpture could be approached from several directions, while changing daylight and foliage became part of the encounter. Inside two purpose-built pavilions, galleries presented paintings, works on paper and other contemporary practices alongside the outdoor programme.
Among the edition’s recognisable outdoor projects were Abenk Alter’s Flower for the Future and Arkiv Vilmansa’s Golden Age. ISA Art Gallery’s presentation, The Apartments, offered a different scale of attention: the idea of a dwelling became a way to consider private routines, memory and the relationship between an interior and the world outside. Its programme included Arahmaiani, Sinta Tantra, Tara Kasenda, Yuki Nakayama and other artists.
