The completed Drawing Now Paris 2026 edition took place from 26–29 March at the same venue and brought together 71 international galleries. Its archive provides a point of comparison for the fair’s development. However, a returning gallery’s presence should be confirmed in the new list before it is considered a 2027 participant.
For a different drawing experience later in the spring, Salon du dessin 2027 will be held from 7–12 April at Palais Brongniart. Its historical and modern range shifts the questions of attribution, technique, and context. There is a gap between the events: the connection is artistic rather than a promise of simultaneous access.
What has changed for 2027
The twentieth edition moves to an earlier March public window compared to the nineteenth edition’s 26–29 March dates. More than 70 galleries are announced for the new fair, but the final roster and detailed programme will determine what has changed artistically. An edition number alone cannot establish a new curatorial direction.
Interesting Fact
The 30 percent artist-focus rule imposes an unusually concrete curatorial constraint on the general sector. It requires a gallery to dedicate a measurable part of its stand to one practice. For visitors, this creates a useful test: does the concentrated group help explain the rest of the stand, or does it feel like a separate island within it?
